[Drake] "stick / slip"

Hi to all. I have a small Drake collection. I KNOW I have encountered 
this problem in the past (and actually fixed it). Trouble is I suffer 
from CRS and cannot remember the fix!!

It is a simple problem. Perhaps it should be called 'stiction' ? Simply 
put, once the PTO knob is moving, my SPR-4 is as smooth as silk. 
However, if you stop turning, there is a small bit of friction to be 
overcome before it smoothes out again. When trying to fine tune a 
station, it's aggravating because it's jerky.

Can anyone refresh my aging brain cell (singular!) ha ha
