The cabinet on my W-4 is not painted, it is actually a type of clad aluminum
The 4 line cabinets are technically not crinkle coat, they are spatter coat,
which can be duplicated with the correct spray paint and an oversized nozzle
For DIY Krylon #1613 now known as semi flat black works reasonably well
Hope this helps

Subject: [Drake] Drake W-4 Wattmeter cabinet
Hello all......
I have a few items from the 4 line. I have a W-4 Wattmeter that requires a
cabinet.
Would anyone have a meter that can be used for parts with a very good
cabinet?
Where can repro's be obtained?
I understand there was a company "Hartzell" that applied the black crinkle
coat to the cabinets for most of the Drake equipment. Do the still exist?
I know Any information would greatly appreciated!
