Thanks to all who gave suggestions. I used simple
green diluted on the knobs and shiny nuts.
I used Dawn dish washing detergent diluted slightly on
the plastic dials, lens and blue filter. I used paper
towels soaked in the solution to wash the dial. I
turned the knob and rotated the dial while holding the
soapy towel against it. I then rinsed all thoroughly
and re installed all. I did not remove the round dial.
It came out beautiful with all plastic clear and clean
and all numbers still there.
A note of interest...the previous owner in Alaska must
not have liked the blue tinted dial light filter
because he had placed it behind the clear lens so the
blue did not show through. I placed the blue in front
of the white diffuser and the blue jobbie is still
blue and looks great.
Thanks again for all the suggestions. All were great
suggestions. 73, John, K5PGW
