Hi Charles...

Frankly, high voltage leads like this make me nervous although mine has
not given me any problem. I'd much prefer having a grounded shield over
the wire in case the insulation breaks down or develops a crack. There
are coax type HV connectors out there and use of coax cable that will
handle the voltage seems to be better to me.
