Nice find!
How is the package marked?  Description, manufacturer, diameter, etc?  What
section (cars, planes, trains, sand buggies, rockets, NASCAR, etc.) did you
find the white rods in?

A full service hobby shop has the perfect replacement white rods.  I bought
a pack for my Johnson and they worked perfectly without any modifications
other then trimming to the right length and angle.  Just make sure you get
the right diameter rod.
