[Drake] Tubes???

Well James,
In some ways its hard to explain. But seeing I'm a old picker from
Nashville ill put it like this,Back in the days of rec. in studios some of
the most mellow sounds came from the old tube amps with the guitar and steel
guitars, bass, ect. as well. The solid state amps were missing the warm sound
and also the many different sounds you could imagine up on stage and in a
rec. session. That's why most pickers in the rec. studios still use tube
amps. This was also true in the HI-FI Ind. as well, and they have never been
gone from that market at all. Most all you high-fi, true music buffs as well
as pros still use tube amps.,Tech. has even made them sound better over the
years.
When such mfg. as fender, peavey and many other switched to solid state the
music pickers went bonkers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WERE THE SOFT SOUND AND THE
GLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Soon after a few years a company started making a
outboard tube pre-amp to use with the solid state amps.Well to say the least
they got rich fast and made a fortune. Now guess who has gone back to making
tube amps? You guessed it,all major amp. mfg. for musical gear. Its funny how
tech. seems to come back around.Fender has a full line of tube amps again as
well as most of them.Hope the helps with some type of explanation.
Randy
