You definitely want to use low capacity (i.e. RG62/U)
for the injection cable.  Otherwise you may "load
down" that particular circuit considerably which, in
turn, may inhibit the operation especially on
frequencies above 14 MHz.

Also, the 38 inch length is pretty much optimum.
