The AF GAIN control uses a compression-fit knob. This control is 
concentric with the RF GAIN control. All other knobs are on the R-4C are 
secured with a screw.

I have two C-Line stations. One R-4C has the Drake 4-NB noise blanker 
installed and the other has none. The 4-NB is effective on ignition 
noise and other regular pulse-type noises. It doesn't do anything on 
power-line and other random noises. These noise blankers are scarce and 
rather expensive. I have no experience with the converted Ten-Tec noise 
blankers.
