Hi John,

I had exactly the same problwem last year. I thought for sure trhat the rig
had blown up and ran home and got another PS...same problem. Tried
everything...different tuner, antenna, everything. Still the same problem. Ran home
and got another TR-7...same thing. About that time, a lowly CBer comes along and
observes the frustration....says "maybe the voltage is too low."
Rats I'm thinking as I run over and check the generator. 125V at 61 cycles,
right on the money. Scratching head, feeding the rig with #12 cable, 50'
long. Should be ok. Run to car and pull out trusty Triplett 310...reads 119V at
the outlet at the end of the cable. Run back to generator and crank it up to
131V and can't read the frequency. Run back to the operation position and
check voltage with rig running on receive...125V on the button! Drove the clox
nutz but rig worked great for the remainder of the peroid. Gave the CBer a cold
807 and dubbed him extra class for the day.

Moral of the story....All CBers are not dumb and TR-7s DON'T LIKE LOW LINE
VOLTAGE!!!

73,
