I had the Drake novice twins in the early '70s, and when I got my general, I got the Eico 722.  Perhaps people are more critical today, or the standards are just higher, but I don't recall any bad reports. It was really a nice station, which replaced my HW-16.  The 2C, being paired with the 2nt never became very popular, but it was a very nice receiver.  Good luck with that setup.  Tom W6EIJ
