The R7 S-meter goes to S9+80 dB so it will not peg it. Just tested mine,
and it came quite close to S9+50 dB, which I think is quite right (if
you do the math you get +7 -30 - -73 (S9-signal) = 50 dB over S9.)

Also tested my TR7 and with that I got S9+30 dB. Think I have to check
the S-meter...
