Hi
When you tune the radio to zero frequency the local oscillator comes
right through the mixer and into the first IF. The mixer isolation is
roughly 30 db and the LO is around +7 dbm or so. This gives you
something in the -20 dbm range as a "test" signal. As I recall it
pretty much pegs the S meter.
That's all what I remember from quite a while ago. I haven't had a R-7
for years.
