[Drake] Drake 2B modification question

Hi Les,
It's a great receiver, & the 2BQ makes it almost unbeatable for a
knowledgeable operator, which you are. I'm surprized your earlier one
wasn't great.
I've owned 5 or 6 2A's & 2B's, don't remember ever seeing, or hearing
of, that mod. Sounds like they may be regulating everything at 150v, which
is the normal highest in the 2B, then taking off at the original dividers
for the lower voltages. Might make a good rcvr even better. Does the OA2
have any trouble firing, or does the SS rectifier supply enough to get it
going, it wants abt 185v to it, thru a dropping resistor, which might be
pretty small in the 2B setup.
