[Drake] Drake 2B modification question

Good morning,

I recently obtained another Drake 2B/2BQ combo. It is very clean and works
better than the other 2B I owned a few years ago. As I always do with any
recently obtained receiver, I removed it from the cabinet, tested the tubes, used a
little de-oxit and checked voltages. I noticed the 6X4 rectifier tube had been
solid stated when looking at the underside of the chassis. Upon turning it
over, I found that the 6X4 tube had been replaced with a OA2 regulator tube. All
voltages appear fine, so my question is, is this a common modification? It is
stable from turn on, much more so than any R4 series receiver that I have
owned over the years and far better than the previously owned 2B.

Thanks for any light you might be able to shed on this modification.
