[Drake] ugly Drake

No offense!!!!
Last year, I bought a complete station from a non-ham. It was described as
'rough'. AMEN! It was described as being "in storage" for years......
The reason I bought it, was, it had an RV-4C VFO which I needed The price
for the whole station was the price of the VFO alone. This poor old radio must
have been underwater or something, cause it's butt ugly. The face plate of the
VFO cleaned up about 90% and I resprayed it's covers. The AC-4 was a 60K
serial # and worked FB.
Recently, after having built my new shop/shack. I decided to tackle the
TR4-C. Darned if it didn't have a 34NB in it (that went into my 4-CW). I spent
probably wayyyy too much time getting the radio going (including 3 new finals),
but it now works fine, all except for the meters. I guess the conditions were
just too much for them.
My silly question is this:
Should I leave the radio as-is, or try to restore it? I do this as a 'hobby'
and have done a ton of Drakes, but none as 'cosmetically challanged' as this
one. It has all kinds of odd knobs on it, also........It's really ugly!!!
My primary Drake, is a nice TR4-CW, so I don't 'need' this radio.
But like a lost puppy, it has a certain 'beauty'.......

Any suggestions? Please be kind!!!!
