Don,

You are on the right track.  The jack is .210" and the plug is .206" as
originally supplied by Drake.  You are correct that the jacks, straight
and right angle plugs are all available from switchcraft through their
distributors for reasonable prices.  There is nothing "rare" about them.
You can use either the right angle or straight plugs with any of the
transmitters, it is your preference.  With the jacks on the side of the
tranceivers and earlier transmitters, it was easier to have a right angle
plug.  The only "rare" plugs might be the original Kings brand supplied
by Collins which are no longer manufactured but they are the same as
the switchcraft 480.
