[Drake] cannot get it to work

Hi John,

Let's apply some logic here and see if it works :)
I presume you are NOT trying to use the set in
true 'split mode' where the transmitter developes
it's own VFO signal(s), and that you ARE trying
to get the transmitter to work from the INJector
signal provided by the receiver, right ???

Of course if this is a T-4B Reciter you're dealing
with, then the choice is ONLY to use the INJ signal :)
(I don't recall whether you mentioned T4 or T4X in
your original post - Brain Fade happening here)

Have you checked the injector freq to see if it's
what it is SUPPOSED to be ? If that's not right,
then the problem may be in the circuit associated
with that stage in the rcvr. IF you ARE getting the
correct freq signal from the INJ line, then that
points to a problem in the transmitter. Probably
in an OSC stage before a 'mixer' stage that is not
right on the proper frequency. Check your schematic
to find these stages and work from there.

In the T-4 schematic I have, V-8 (6AU6) is a PreMixer
that looks to mix the INJ signal with what looks like
a (C124) padded xtal on pin-1, then to the bandswitch
which has MANY C's... (C-108-113, 119-122, 149, 150)
If your INJ freq is correct, perhaps that's where the
solution may lie...

My Pre-A line is about 300 Hz off as well, not an
uncommon occurance, but next time I'm in there, I'll
be there with an o-scope, RF VTVM, and a pair of sig
gens - IF I can find someone with the proper probes
that're willing to part with :)

If you have all the required test equipment to do
the alinement, then you're one up on ME. I found
out very early that if you don't have that, you
might as well not try to hard to get it PERFECT!

<break in the typing>

Been looking all over for my original manuals, must
have them stuffed away in a corner or box somewhere.
Could have sworn that the C61 that someone else made
mention of sounded somewhat familiar... :-/

I'll be watching this thread with interest!
