Hi Tim, on second thought, that relay may be in the power box, not the
desktop unit. If that's the case, and you don't have the AC box connected,
what you're seeing may be normal.

| sounds like a problem to me. if I remember, the on/off function
| is latched
| by an internal relay. the ON button (N.O) momentarily energizes the relay
| coil. One of the relay contact sets maintains the relay coil energized.
| This circuit goes through the OFF button (N.C). Pressing OFF opens the
| relay, de-energizing the unit. You might check around the relay for
| corroded contacts, voltages, etc.
