*PLEASE if you are having any COVID, RSV or FLU symptoms DO NOT come to the
clubhouse.*
*TNG – Thursday, August 22, 2024*
DARA Clubhouse, 6619 Bellefontaine Rd. Dayton, OH 45424. The meeting
begins around 7pm.
No special presentation this week.
DARA/TNG is offering a two to three Saturday afternoon hands-on class on 3D
modeling: September 21 and 28 (and October 5, if needed), 2:00pm at the
clubhouse. Bring your computer and learn (by practicing) how to design your
own 3D models. This focus is on utility prints, such as enclosures and
antenna supports, not art style models. More details to come.
If anyone wants to or knows someone who might want to give a presentation
at a future TNG or if you have a topic that you would like to see, please
let me know.
Everyone is invited!!!

The Repeater Quiz was born at a Thursday Night Group back in 2018 in the
later half of August. It was probably August 16th, with the first quiz
going out in the Repeater that weekend. That means our little quiz has
turned 6!!! To celebrate, in the tradition of Thursday Night Group’s Chaos
Night, it seems fitting to allow random chance to determine this week’s
questions. What do the fates have in store for us?
T4A11 Where should the negative power return of a mobile transceiver be
connected in a vehicle?
A. At the 12 volt battery chassis ground
B. At the antenna mount
C. To any metal part of the vehicle
D. Through the transceiver’s mounting bracket
G7C12 What is the frequency above which a low-pass filter’s output power is
less than half the input power?
A. Notch frequency
B. Neper frequency
C. Cutoff frequency
D. Rolloff frequency
E9G01 Which of the following can be calculated using a Smith chart?
A. Impedance along transmission lines
B. Radiation resistance

Answers:

E9G01 = A
