Four Days In May, Contest University and Hamvention Forums
2021 is still being effected by our buddy Covid. The next few weeks will offer those of us a unique opportunity. How many of you have always wanted to attend the FOUR DAYS IN MAY but were unable to do so because of other volunteer duties? I know I have.
Or how about wanting to attend a day of ideas on how you could make contact with DX stations, we can this year!
Or has there been several special Hamvention Forums you wanted to attend, you can this year.
Well let me tell you THIS is the year for YOU!! If you look at the information in the HAMFEST section (below) you will find info and web links for ALL of these.

DARA ZOOM Meeting May 7
The DARA Membership Meeting on Zoom will take place this coming Friday May 7, 2021 at 7:00pm. There has been a lot of talk about the RF Exposure update by the FCC starting this month and not all the information has been very accurate creating confusion. Our membership meeting speaker, Gregory Lapin N9GL, will be able to give you the most up to date and correct answers to your questions about staying compliant. This is a topic that effects all of us as radio amateurs and those that are around us. Gregory will help you make sure your station is compliant with the long-standing regulations.
Gregory Lapin, N9GL, was first licensed as WN1NUK in 1970. He was later to be WA1NUK and KD9AZ. He received the PhD degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL and studied brain tumors as a faculty member just as cell phones were being introduced. He is a member of the IEEE Committee on Man and Radiation, COMAR, and has chaired the ARRL RF Safety Committee since 1998, when the first FCC RF Exposure Rules for hams became effective. He works as a consultant in the emergency communications industry, serves on the Public Emergency Reporting Committee of the National Fire Protection Association, NFPA, and is a member of the FCC Technological Advisory Council, TAC. He has attended the Dayton Hamvention numerous times and is looking forward to going again next year.
