Did you participate in this contest? I did. I scored a whopping 110 points
but I did have fun.
FREE license exams
The Dayton Amateur Radio Association VE Team is hosting a FREE license exam
for all levels of amateur license.
Testing will take place THIS Saturday, June 20th at the DARA clubhouse 6619
Bellefontaine Rd. Huber Heights, OH.
Due to the Covid-19 restrictions we are requiring pre-registration for
testing. Session size will be limited to 5 applicants at a time. The opening
session will begin at 10:00am with additional sessions being added as
necessary. When you pre-register you will be notified of your testing
appointment time.
Because of limited testing time and expected high volume we will not be
offering retests if you are unsuccessful.
Applicants will be required to bring-
. FRN number and ID
. a pencil
. a pen
. a calculator (simple calculators are best, programmable
calculators must be cleared, and smart phones are not allowed.)

License Exam Questions of the week
One question is drawn from each of the three question pools. Steve, AE8AT,
is providing these questions. Thanks Steve
Answers are at the end of this email.
Field Day is one of the most popular events in the amateur radio world
covering amateur bands from 160m to 10m (excluding WARC) and everything
above 50MHz, and all modes are allowed. June 27-28 are the dates for 2020.
Find details at arrl.org/field-day. A lot of clubs are modifying their plan
to comply with the requirements and guidance from various government and
other organizations. Make sure to check with the club if you plan to head
to their Field Day. The city or entity issuing a permit may have placed
added restrictions on the event. There are clubs that will participate from
their individual locations rather than gathering as a club. One more way
that 2020 will be a special kind of year. The question pools don't address
Field Day, but there are plenty of questions about fields!

A. Inductance
B. Resistance
C. Tolerance
D. Capacitance
G3A13 What does the A-index indicate?

B. The amount of polarization of the sun's electric field
C. The long-term stability of Earth's geomagnetic field

E9B12 What is the far field of an antenna?
A. The region of the ionosphere where radiated power is not refracted
B. The region where radiated power dissipates over a specified time period
C. The region where radiated field strengths are obstructed by objects of
reflection
D. The region where the shape of the antenna pattern is independent of
distance
