Tom asked me to send out this update about Barb's surgery on Friday.
The results weren't what we all hoped for.

It turns out that the surgeons could not remove the tumor, which
apparently is an aggressive type.  After about 2 hours they finished the
operation and Barb went to the recovery room.  She has been recovering
well and will probably be discharged in two or three days.

We are told that this type of cancer doesn't typically respond well to
chemo or radiation, though as of now nothing has been ruled out.  Tom
and Barb will be talking to the doctor this week and a treatment plan
will come out of that.  Unfortunately, the prognosis is not good.

Barb's spirits are good and Tom and daughter Amy are hanging in there.
They would all welcome your prayers and positive thoughts.

We'll let you know once Barb is back at home.
