Projects

The Thursday Night Group will meet

Thursday, Sept 13 at 7:00 PM at the DARA Clubhouse.

------------------------------------------------------

Things this week:

1. Antenna Analyzer - update

Rubin and Phil will tell us the latest on this project.

2. Power Supply Tester - continues

Steve, KB8STB, has expressed interest in TNG having a Power Supply Tester.

Are we going to design one and build it?

Let's start this discussion.

3. NEW ** License Exam Questions of the week

One question is drawn from each of the three question pools. Steve, AE8AT,
is providing these questions. Thanks Steve

Answers are at the end of this email.

This week's quiz is based on the work of a famous scientist. September 22,
1791, Michael Faraday was born to a blacksmith and housekeeper in London,
England. Science, being a domain of the wealthy classes at that time, his
education was earned reading the books he made as an apprentice bookbinder.
He contributed to the sciences in the areas of chemistry, electricity, and
magnetism. Electromagnetic inductance was an area of Faraday's work that
coincides with the question pool.

T5C03 What is the ability to store energy in a magnetic field called?

A. Admittance.

B. Capacitance.

C. Resistance.

D. Inductance.

G5C01 What causes a voltage to appear across the secondary winding of a
transformer when an AC voltage source is connected across its primary
winding?

A. Capacitive coupling.

B. Displacement current coupling.

C. Mutual inductance.

D. Mutual capacitance.

E3A15 What is an electromagnetic wave?

A. A wave of alternating current, in the core of an electromagnet.

B. A wave consisting of two electric fields at parallel right angles to each
other.

C. A wave consisting of an electric field and a magnetic field oscillating
at right angles to each other.

D. A wave consisting of two magnetic fields at right angles to each other.

4. Projects

Bring something to work on. What you building?
