Things this week:  

1.      new microscope/camera

Mike, W8RKO, will demo and show off his new microscope/camera and explain
what you can use it for.

2.      Antenna Analyzer - update

Rubin and Phil will tell us the latest on this project.

 

3.      Power Supply Tester - continues

Steve, KB8STB, has expressed interest in TNG having a Power Supply Tester.

Are we going to design one and build it?

4.      NEW ** License Exam Questions of the week

One question is drawn from each of the three question pools. Steve, AE8AT,
is providing these questions.  Thanks Steve

T0A11 What kind of hazard might exist in a power supply when it is turned
off and disconnected? 

A. Static electricity could damage the grounding system. 

B. Circulating currents inside the transformer might cause damage. 

C. The fuse might blow if you remove the cover.

capacitors. 

 

G0A11 What precautions should you take if you install an indoor transmitting
antenna? 

A. Locate the antenna close to your operating position to minimize feed line
radiation. 

B. Position the antenna along the edge of a wall to reduce parasitic
radiation. 

C. Make sure that maximum permissible exposure limits are not exceeded in
occupied areas. 

D. Make sure the antenna is properly shielded. 

 

E0A07 How may dangerous levels of carbon monoxide from an emergency
generator be detected?

A. Be the odor.

B. Only with a carbon monoxide detector.

C. Any ordinary smoke detector can be used.

D. By the yellowish appearance of the gas.
