I picked this Eldico keyer up at a recent hamfest, and did some repair
(rectifiers/filter caps/timing circuit) and it's working well now.
The mechanical portion of the thing is interesting. The whole works seems
to be mounted in a black resin cast housing which is then machined and
fitted with the paddle arm and the adjustment screws for travel and
centering. While the spacing of the arms is a bit wide for my tastes, the
adjustment screws don't want to budge. I've broken enough things in a
similar state to leave well enough alone and use it as is, rather than
getting out the TorqueMaster screwdriver.
The relay ticking away with the CW is kind of soothing!
