[CW] Source for bases for straight keys?

After about 30 minutes with a hacksaw, a bench grinder, and a drill press I was able to make a couple of decent bases for my CTE-2600A ‘flameproof’ keys out of 1/8” steel plate. Used stainless steel machine screws, self-locking nuts, and rubber pads to finish it off. The added weight upon the rubber feet keeps the key from ‘wandering’ around the desk. This was a good afternoon project that will last forever. Nope, it isn’t an original part… but works out quite well.

With the increase of new Morse interest, maybe some retired fellow would being them out again, and maybe even make the semi-automatic keys that Nye had the rights to make and continue the old Johnson straight keys and bugs.
