A standard radio room clock from a merchant ship. I have one
but it needs repair. These are more or less standard 8 day
clocks. There is an extra free hand to indicated local time, the
clock being set to GMT. The markings are for the "silent periods"
and for timing a hand sent signal for an auto-alarm.
I took my clock to a supposedly competent clock repair
person who managed to break the jewel bearings on the "platform".
It was a gift to me so is of considerable value to me.
Since this one says MacKay on it it was likely part of a
Mackay/Federal Telegraph console. Both Federal and RCA made
all-in-one consoles for installation on merchant ships during
ww-2. The mechanism is similar to those in 8-day mantle clocks.
