Good news!

Piero Begali is interested in making a version of UA3AO and UA3AMY's
Russian Semiautomatic key with Cootie Dasher!

I sent him these two links for two videos to watch:

https://youtu.be/9g6z7-d1fiI

https://youtu.be/-0eG5KLLKzs

I also asked UA3AO and UA3AMY for measurements of the added post especially
the spacing between the existing dash paddle and the new added dash paddle
so I can send Piero Begali the measurements for the spacing between the
original dash paddle and the added "cootie dasher" paddle.

Good news!

Hello David,

Thanks again for your email and again for your proposal!

My father is ready to design some of these keys not only for you but for
himself too!

So no payment is needed for starting the production, please.

We may will be able to design it and the first prototype will be sent to
you just to be tested!

What do you think?

Do you have some draw, draft of this key so we can see how bit it is and
may trying to do the Begali one with the same dimension of the one you have
, please?

Please, don’t hesitate to contact me again !

Thanks again for your email and again for your understanding waiting till
today!

Wish you have a nice day and a great and safe week!

Best wishes from Italy , 73

Ciao Piero / Hello Piero,

I'd like for you to accept a commission work on that key I told you about
many years ago. It is the key UA3AO uses.

It is a typical semi-automatic Morse key, but with the addition of an
additional key lever on the right side with a paddle shaped finger piece,
so that Morse characters with more than one dash in a row can be produced
by alternating motion with the index finger moving between the original
dash paddle and the new dash paddle.

I call the key "Semiautomatic key with cootie dasher" in Russia where such
keys were used during WWII they are called "Russian Bugs".

The semiautomatic key would be your "Intrepid" model with UA3AO type
modifications.

Would you undertake such a project upon our agreement for funding and
prepayment?
