This is a shock and very sad. Ray made a significant contribution to amateur radio. He and I formed a solid rapport after we both joined the FOC committee at the same time. He had a modern and relaxed approach which helped us change the old fashioned culture of "Through you, Mr Chairman", "Point of Order" etc. I often quote a couple of his phrases he used to use when describing certain people - "He thinks highly of himself" and "A legend in his own lunchtime." Always brings a smile to my face. We also worked together to update the FOC website which had become out of date.

A great loss to the amateur radio fraternity.
