Act NOW to save ham radio!


Am I the only one to notice the irony here?

Not very long ago we had a different episode of “Act NOW To Save Ham Radio”.

FCC proposed that Morse testing be ended [GASP] for all classes of license.  CW enthusiasts, far and wide, cursed the FCC for ruining our hobby, cancelled their ARRL membership, and bemoaned the cheapening of our license.  The end was certainly nigh.

“They need to EARN the privilege, demonstrate a COMMITMENT to our great hobby!  These kids want everything just handed to them!” was heard across the land.

Fast forward a few years, ham radio has survived just fine without a Morse exam, but now the COMMITMENT equal to working a shift at Burger King is far too expensive. “We should hand it out for free!”

Ironic!
