I sort of follow this but two pieces of paper for _weight_?
hardly any, maybe they should use angels dancing on the knob. I
have seen a fellow who sent this way, key barely opened, don't
remember how much tension. Well, I have a key on a code practice
oscillator right here and tried it. Couldn't get much control and
can't send any faster than my usual set up but played with the
spacing and tension a little. FWIW, this is a Western Electric
key and Bud oscillator. Keep it next to the computer to practice on.
I normally set the tension so that it just lifts a size D
battery off the contact. Spacing around the thickness of the edge
of a dime. I have no idea what my speed is now but I once was
comfortable at around 20WPM.
