I've just logged onto this site for the first time.. Dave Ring posted some of the info we had been discussing on the Skcc group about dot Stutter and how to solve it.. And asked if I would join this group.
Here is more info from a Blog I wrote in 2018 concerning the issue and how to place a speed key vertically. This is a rather long Blog I put together about speed key adjustment in general.. as I was experimenting placing speed keys vertically.

Speed key Adjustment Procedures Note: In the 1950/1960's the Navy required anyone using a speed key to first pass a speed key test.. which was to send over 20wpm for 10 minutes with no errors.
