Hi, David, et al.

Nice recollection of Vibroplex bugs, David.  I, fortunately, acquired an 
Original Gold awhile back
at a price I could afford and it is a sweet sender, also.  I had to 
check its main spring and it is not
plated.  Nor, does it have the ground braid added.  I, because my health 
issues, have not used it
a lot, but I did not notice any conductivity issues without the braid, 
but I may have to add it later
when I return to Belize and its environment. It does have the jeweled 
pivots.

As most of my keys are in Belize, including a few I have 
rebuilt/restored and those all can be made
to be sweet sending keys.  I have had to replace a few main springs in a 
few and use non-plated
feeler gauge material.  The ones I replaced were either broken or badly 
mangled.  I don't recall
changing any because they were too stiff as in plated, but my memory 
fades some days. 8>}
