[CW] New ARRL Code Proficiency Certificate Program

I‘ve been licensed for over 60 years. A member of the ARRL since, and a Life Member for much of that time. There have always been supporters and detractors, long before there were reflectors or social media outlets where one could voice one’s disapproval for a large audience. I’ve agreed with some things, disagreed with others. It isn’t as though bitching about the ARRL is a recent phenomenon.

Perhaps some level of participation might have a positive effect. You can’t count on “somebody else” to take care of what you see as an organizational ill. It would certainly have a more positive impact than sitting on the outside stoop doing little more than grumbling, kibitzing, and telling everyone why you won’t be a member.

Very few of us actually do anything any more besides complain in some public forum … and I’m as guilty as any one else. Whether the subject is ARRL, politics, lead in the water supply… whatever …

One or two where I am a member may be a shell of their former selves but still do somewhat represent me. It's just how it all works. Maybe somebody should start a new organization. I'mm too old to do that.
