Rolfe,
I guess my information is old - not surprising, everything else is too!
You would need element 1 and element 6, you receive credit with the old
Extra exam proof of telegraph elements 1 and 2.
If you have a Marine Radio Permit, GMDSS license, or GROL (General
Radiotelephone Operator License) license, you get credit for element 1.
Latest:
Question Pools and Study Guides
Examination question pools, with answers, are available for downloading
below.
- Element 1 (pdf <https://www.fcc.gov/file/11789/download>)
- Element 6 (pdf <https://www.fcc.gov/file/11791/download>)
Element 5 was very easy, but many failed because they didn't study it at
all. What is the QTH - that is Latitude and Longitude of Balboa, Panama.
Many Q signals and telegram practices, all of which is outdated in the days
of satellite communications and per minute not per word charges.
Here's the FCC page.
