     "The Marine Radio Manual" which I got on your 
recommendation, lists a few collective calls as of 1944.
NCU  calling any or all Coast Guard station.
KGMM  Any or all Mackay controlled ship.
WWAA  Any or all RMCA controlled ship.
NERK  General call for Navy vessels.
WGBC  Any or all U.S. merchant ships
NQO   Any or all Navy shore stations
WAUS  Any or all U.S. commercial coast stations.
KRSW  Any RMCA ship equipped for short wave.
BAMS  Allied merchant ships (WW-2)
GBMS  Any British ship station.
     He also mentions that there are collective calls for ships 
of particular lines but does not mention any. These would be like 
the calls you have below for ESSO/EXXON
    I have not been able to find any of the ITU publications on 
line and only one, a mid 1970s list of Ships, for sale. Every 
ship was supposed to have them but like old telephone books they 
seem to be very rare.
