On closer examination the Columbia disc, Part-5, is English,
made by the Columbia Graphophone Company in London. That may
explain the odd narration. The American company was also called
Graphophone. It would be great if someone could come up with good
dates for the earliest records. The Edison recording and some
others, must have been acoustical and not electrical recordings
dating them at latest after 1924.
Anyone who has put up with my posts to various mailing lists
probably is aware of my interest in the history of technology in
particular wireless and sound recording so have a little patience
with me.
