[CW] Headphones or Loudspeaker?

I use a Radiosport set of cans.  I built a tuned speaker (600Hz) a
couple years ago and it worked out quite well tone-wise and in a quiet
room.  It's been on the shelf since ever since.

Reasons for can preference: 1) Permits total concentration  2) Enhances
my ability to hear the weaker signals at my senior age and after 38
years of cockpit noise 3) Indicates to XYL to *not* bother me, talk to
me, expect me to answer the phone or ask me to walk the dog.

Subject: [CW] Headphones or Loudspeaker?

How about an informal poll? I am torn between my loudspeaker and my Heil
Headphones... my issue is that I can listen to the loudspeaker for hours
in great comfort and since my shack is generally quiet it works well.
However, in a pinch very noisy band
conditions will drive me to the headphones. Not sure why but it seems
that I can hear the weal signals a little better with them...

General thoughts?
