In 2013 I applied for the then-new T license and my Extra license from the 20 WPM days was accepted in place of the code tests. I provided copies of both my first Extra license and the Certificate of Successful Completion of Examination but I was just trying to cover all possible bases. The license alone should do the trick if it was first issued before the 20 WPM test was eliminated.

I've not heard this practice has changed - seems unlikely.

Do you know if the FCC still accepts an Amateur Extra license from 1982 as proof
of having passed the Morse requirement?

My 1982 certificate type Extra license included the code test, but I wouldn't mind taking it again -
UNLESS there is an additional charge for a code exam that isn't needed.

A few years ago, FCC eliminated two of the FCC radiotelegraph licenses, which were T3, T2, and T1, third class, second class, and first class radiotelegraph operator's certificates. You needed a T2 or T1 to operate a ship radiotelegraph station, and you needed a T1 to be a Chief Radio Officer on a passenger ship.

I knew some of the official answers for the FCC radiotelegraph license were incorrect, but I had no idea how many were incorrect.

See:

If any are studying for the still offered Radiotelegraph Operator's Certificate, this would help with studying for Element 6.

The official FCC question pools are here:

Official FCC Element 6 is here:
