Whether I am working at the bench on some project or just reading at the
operating position, I like to read the mail listening to 40 or 80 meter
CW. It amazes me that alot the time I cant hear the other half of the QSO
unless my filter is wider than 500 Hz. When folks were rock bound it was
understandable but how can anyone using modern rigs ( 30 yrs or newer ) not
know that they are 600 Hz off zero beat? Is it that they dont understand
zero beat, maybe they used the RIT and forgot it was set +500, maybe they
just dont care that they are using twice the bandwidth that they need to!
And then they get bent out of shape when some unsuspecting ham pounds out
QRL? on what appears to be a vacant spot on the band.... Maybe I am just
getting old.. hi hi
73 es gud CW
