David,
Putting up the answers is so WRONG!
What is the purpose of the exam? So that we can test the subject matter knowledge, or to test if we can memorize the answers?
PLEASE do not publish exam answers.

The FCC no longer sees the individual examinations or the answers. The COLEM such as NARTE or W5YI/NRE (the NRE part of the group!) grade the tests. The use the answer key, so learn the WRONG answers.
One of the answers that is wrong has to do with A2 or modulated telegraphy and the reception of it. There is an answer that is more correct than the one given by the answer key and it would be chosen by someone who had actually received keyed A2 transmissions like we at sea did, and if they chose it, it would be marked "incorrect" - so learn the answers on the answer key.
I have asked Ghassan Khalek of the FCC to put up the answers - he didn't know that this element was missing answers - but it appears that it has not been done contrary to his assurances it would be done.
He sent me the answers if I can find them.

David,
Does that mean the FCC is expecting the right answers on the test or the "wrong" answers? :-)

I have a copy from FCC with the answer key, but some of the answers are incorrect, so you have to learn the wrong answers :-)

FCC License Pool Questions are freely available on their web site:

These appear to be the same questions as those published in the W5YI booklet. I guess the only advantage of the latter is that the answer key is in the back.
