Not aware of any instance when they were used "for real" but it would surprise me if they weren't.

Navy versions could be keyed automatically, or manually.  Output power was around 5w on 500kc and about half that on 8364kc.

My first RMC, a WWII veteran, claimed the first ones in the Navy were captured Kraut units, which we then copied.
