No, Henry, I won't berate you. TCDXA is certainly a different club
than it was the first time I attended a meeting back in the 1960's as
a guest of my best friend Hal, WA0KDI (SK).
We still miss you and those guys who left the club, but I understand
why you left. The club was taking a direction that was different than
your preference.
But I'd disagree with your characterization as "just another radio
club". It's still very DXCC centric, and those members who aren't
interested in DX don't generally hang around for long. The result is
a central membership core of very serious DXers doing a lot to advance
that segment of Amateur Radio. Every serious DXpedition of recent
years has had our financial support, plus several have included our
members like K0IR, W0GJ, W0OR, N0AT, and others.
Perhaps you might give us another look and see what our club members
are doing to advance DXing. A good place would be at our latest
newsletter at http://www.tcdxa.org/Newsletters/March2012Grayline.pdf
