To all those that took the time to respond to my question - I thank you.
I had a ham friend that went to Dayton. He checked out the Begali Blade
for me and he said it was fantastic. He tried to check the Bencher
products - but all the keys were in plastic cases and no one could touch
them? Odd??
I want something that is new. I keep my equipment in excellent condition
and the price is not too bad. I know all will not agree with me but - to
each his own. I have never owned a quality straight key. I have mainly
used iambic paddles and keyers. Since I am going to retire from my
second career I deserve a good key - so I am going to treat myself.
So, I think I will order the Begali.
Again - thanks everyone for all your suggestions.
I hope to catch you on the air. BTW - I only go about 10 wpm. That is my
comfortable speed.

Hey All,
I am looking for a good straight key. I have used mostly keyers and
Iambic paddles (Bencher / Vibroplex) for a long time. I was wondering if
I could get an idea of what you all think is the BEST straight key. I am
looking for the best feel or action. I have an old Signal Company key -
but it is not very smooth. I hope I am making myself clear? I do not
want to tie up the reflector - so please e-mail me directly
