Hello David,

Up until recently Walt W1ZPB was quite active on VTNH. Some health issues have limited his activity, but we still here hime now and then. One fine operator.

Wondering if might remember Joe W1KRV from the early days of VTN. I'm a relative youngster to VTN and VTNH having joined in 1979 (-:

When I lived in Winchester, NH I often had the BOLDNESS to check into the VTN which was the Vermont traffic net. Then I noticed that my nearest CW neighbor who taught science at Northfield Academy in Northfield, MA checked in also. He reasoned that he could walk across the main street, and cross the little bridge that ran over the Connecticut river into Vernon, VT in about 3 minutes. The bridge was near the Pizza place and also near the Northfield post office where I used to drop off my mail. I also saw a fellow standing outside of the Northfield, MA post office with a Society of Wireless Pioneers (SOWP) Titanic pin.

Of course, I had to say something, so I asked about the pin and told him that I also had one of those pins. I introduced myself and I found out that I had both spoken to him when I worked in broadcasting but also on the air, and I'd worked him a few times in the FOC marathon.

So gang if you're up in Northern Massachusetts, or in the great states of VT and NH - join the net - they have a great history of having some of the greatest operators I've ever worked. W1PEX, W1ZPB, W1ZW. Lots of history and lots of skill.

That fellow from Northfield used a straight key for his entire ham career and he has one beautiful fist. I used to work him from sea and he sounded really salty like he'd been a Marconi man.

I am a member of a CW net called VTNH. This net meets daily at 7 PM Eastern
    Time on 3539.

Although this net is primarily a National Traffic System net for Vermont and
New Hampshire it also offers a great place for CW ops to gather and keep in
    touch.

We are "starving" for check ins and would sure appreciate anyone stopping by
to check in and help keep us alive ! All speeds welcome !!

    Thanks,
