Here is the official way we were taught in Canada:

AR     End of Transmission     ( A CQ would be a transmission )


K       Invitation to Transmit    (If you hear my CQ go ahead and transmit 
to me)


VA  (or  SK)    END  of  Work     ( I am  finished sending to you)

It is pretty well self explanatory if you use the above  official 
definitions
