Thanks for the several replies. Nancy, WZ8C had the info I was looking for.
It was a Kitano Key.

Several years ago, I think a Japanese key manufacturer made a key that was manipulated by one's index finger and the middle finger. It was a pretty simple device, much like two miniature handkeys mounted on a single base. I believe the keys were about the size of the keys on a computer keyboard. Not sure what it was called but for some reason the name "finger tapper" comes to mind, but that may be totally wrong.
If you have one of these keys in your collection or have a reference, or anything else that might help me out, I'd be delighted to hear from you.
Even better, if you have one you would be willing to sell or trade, that would be super!
