Hi Danny and others

Didn't Kenwood build a plant in California some years ago?
Maybe it's no longer in the states.

One of the problems that we in the west are having is that much of our
manafacturing has gone "overseas" to places where the hourly wages and
support costs are much cheaper than our own countries. Yes, parts come from
every place, as do raw products themselves. Yes- many manafacturers have
facilities in many other countries, General Motors and Ford, for instance.
Now the Japanese companies have several plants here in the USA - to provide
stateside built automobiles for stateside sales. Part of this is because
they want to be able to say they have done so. But I dont know of a
Japanese (for instance) ham manafacturer who builds and puts together any
ham gear in the states - thus our entire costs (less sales costs) go
overseas. Its well and good to say prices are cheaper - because of their
building units by the thousands- but how many jobs have been lost locally to
such operations? No jobs - no pay checks to turn around and by the
products. We simply need to balance payments between countries. Its the
same with oil. Can you imagine what the USA or Germany, etc. would be able
to do with their finances, if we could just keep what we earned, in our own
countries? I cant go into a Walmart today, without thinking about my hard
earned cash going to China or Mexico and NOT supporting some poor American
worker, so he can afford the same product I am buying.
