Danny,

this is running a little bit off topic now so this will be my last 
statement in this reflector.

Interestingly enough you may hear the same opinion in Germany, too. Of 
course related to German products, factories and plants in Hungary, 
Poland or wherever.

But it's simply not true that this is a disadvantage for German (or in 
your case American) workers. Both USA and Germany are largely taking 
profit of exports. US (and German) goods are selling worldwide. If we 
would close our borders for products from abroad (protectionism) or 
would take high tariffs this would effect vice versa that other 
countries would restrict our exports (their imports from Germany).

And since USA and Germany are huge export nations the damage would be 
much greater than the protection effect.

The best way to increase prosperity in EVERY part of the world is a 
worldwide free trade.

In 1997 your compatriote Milton Friedman (nobel prize winner in 
economics) wrote an remarkable essay about "The case for free trade".
