[CW] Bugs on board ship

During WX that we called "heaving green WX", even having the bug
positioned athwart ships didn't help much - and for some unknown
reason the Captain would come in the the monthly payroll message to
send. Usually we'd be off Chile where the Pacific swells would cause
the ship to pitch plowing the stem into the bottom of the wave and
sending masses of water and spume crashing over the wheelhouse which
was six
decks above the main deck.
When the ship pitched like that the pendulum of the bug would swing
like my stomach - and make long dashes - or light ones!
I found the cootie key was the perfect higher speed key then!
